In 2017, we signed an agreement with the Department of Normal Physiology at Zaporizhia State Medical University. The positive experiences of this department drew the attention of Igor Belenichev, Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Medical Prescription, to the idea of humane education.
By using old Soviet films, the department was already almost animal-free. "Only" 50 rats were still being killed each year. Our goal is to support interested university teachers on their path to animal-free education– no matter where they are on their journey. Modern teaching requires modern teaching materials. Old Soviet films are certainly not the answer. So we gladly fulfilled the request of the Head of Department, Igor Belenichev, and purchased a laptop, a projector, and a large amount of films and software. The handover and agreement signing took place on 11 January 2019.
