In December 2010, we signed an agreement with Viktor Markovich, Ph.D. Zakalugny, Head of the Department of Human and Animal Biology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Poltava National Pedagogical University. At his department, 982 vertebrates (fish, frogs, lizards, snakes, turtles, rats, mice, dogs, cats and rabbits) and around 1,200 invertebrates (earthworms, mussels, crabs, insects and 10,000 fruit flies) have been killed every year to study their anatomy and for genetic, cytological and physiological experiments.
The agreement determines that all these animal experiments will cease on 1 September 20111 . The department received a projector, a computer, a monitor and numerous DVD's and CD's from us.
Control visit
In Oktober 2011, the control visit took place. It could be confirmed that the donated animal-free teaching materials were in use and everything was running to our complete satisfaction.
