Valentina Movchan, Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Technologies, was made aware of modern teaching without animal use by students and persuaded to rethink her approach. The agreement was signed in March 2015. Every year, 360 vertebrates such as fish, frogs, lizards, rats, mice and pigeons as well as 430 invertebrates such as earthworms, crabs and insects are no longer killed and dissected to study their anatomy. We donated a notebook, four suture training models as well as numerous films and computer simulation programmes. The dissections will be discontinued at the start of the new semester on 1 September 2015.
