Faculty of Biology, Department of Zoology
At the Institute of Zoology, 1,375 invertebrates such as mussels, snails, insects, crabs and earthworms as well as 135 vertebrates (50 fish, 25 frogs, 10 lizards or turtles, 15 pigeons and 15 rats) have been killed every year to teach students about the internal structure of the various animal species.
With the agreement signed in December 2010, the department undertook to refrain from dissecting killed animals from 1 June 2011. We donated two projectors and two screens as well as various DVDs and CDs to the department.
